As the time is rapidly approaching for the 2019 RV season, are there some conveniences or upgrades that would make your RV adventures more enjoyable? Here at RVRX, with over 3 decades of construction experience, there are several additions that can be done to really enhance the motor coach without busting the vacation budget. When I first obtained the 2005 fifth wheel/toy hauler that my wife I and travel around in with the ATV’s, I knew from the start that there were some things that needed to be adjusted. I, personally, don’t care for carpet in the bathroom and a dinky toilet. There are many options out there, but I chose to install a thin layer of Multiply (TM) along with some glued down Ashen Oakwood look vinyl planks. Then, I did some research and found that Dometic (TM) had a nice 320 series comfort height, elongated bowl toilet with the sprayer and a porcelain bowl for a price similar to what you would expect for a new toilet in your house.
The entire installation only added about 50 pounds to the motor coach and makes a tremendous difference. Also, remember that you do not have to use the often times poorly made plastic RV style plumbing fixtures. I am not a fan of the big box versions of name brand faucets as they frequently differ in overall quality and will purchase my faucets directly from the vendor. The replacement of the kitchen sink and bath lavatory plumbing fixtures adds a nice touch of home, much more durable and adds just a couple of pounds to the rig. RVRX also does sound system upgrades so you can “Rock the campground!” (if so desired, before quiet time… 🙂 From replacing squeaky ceiling fans, installing power awnings and better TV antennas, there are many options that after seeing what you have, I could make informed recommendations on how to spruce up the motor coach. It’s nice to make the home away from home just as comfortable and convenient as the one you left behind.
RVRX Mobile RV Repair also does the installation of roof vent covers to keep the rain out while keeping fresh air circulating and will inspect the roof while I’m up there. It’s always easier and far less expensive to fix roof leaks sooner, versus later. Hopefully, we’re about done with the worst of winter here in the Carolinas. So, get those lot sites reserved and call RVRX so your first outing of the season, and many others, will be great ones!
